Changes in spaces interest
me greatly. Where once was a building, there can be a void now. Out of nothing, can monuments be constructed.
The process of construction, (which includes reconstruction and deconstruction) and the in-transition of spaces are some
of the recurrent themes that can be found in most of my works, including this one.
Intimate Spaces show a strategically composed subject of a face deliberately painted with a geometric representation of
a “square” – mimicking the composition and format of a picture frame. At a glance, one gets a close-up view of a mouth
with lips slightly apart. Viewed at eye level, it invites you to peer into the space within and perhaps beyond.
