| Objectives |
This is a unique art appreciation seminar that seeks to give the participants an understanding of the theory of art to enable the participants to formulate their own strategies in appreciating art.
This seminar seeks to help participants use philosophical ideas as strategies for conceptualizing and making art and design. |
Participants will be introduced to:
- An understanding of the theory behind art making
- A survey of modern art expressions
- A guide to buying and caring for art
The seminar conducted by informal discussion and presentation by facilitator surrounding a particular topic of art for the week. The participants have the option to read the primary text for the week’s discussion or to just participate in the discussion.

Course Facilitator
Jeffrey Ho is a lecturer and a registered architect with a master sin history and theory of architecture from McGill University , Canada . He has developed and taught the lecture series “Ethos & Poeisis: Philosophical Strategies for Art Making” in La-Salle SIA College of the Arts, and also developed a number of history and theory of art and architecture curriculum for institutions. He is also a practicing artist who has co-founded and developed a way of Spontaneous Painting for Unleashing Creativity in our lives. He conducts an art workshop call “Painting without Thinking - The Art of Spontaneous Painting”. His paintings are well-received and acquired by private collectors.
